2021 Wish List
Dream products – we all have them. Designer clothes we imagine wearing and expensive creams we fantasise smudging on our faces in the hope they will give us the skin only editing apps or expensive treatments can generate. Brilliant books we have heard will change our lives, shoes that we just know will do so and jewellery that’s transforming our self-perception.
I think it is safe to say that we all have a secret list of such items reflecting our deepest desire buried somewhere in our notes app. It is also a safe bet that we are an inherently nosey species and love finding out about said desires of other people, so I decided to showcase my materialistic side and list all the pieces I have been dreaming about for quite a while.
When, if not at the beginning of a new, promising year, would be the best time to compose an extensive shopping list that can be ticked off over the course of the year. After all, and thanks to a lack of night-outs in the previous year, I have saved up a little money, which I am more than willing to spend on things that make me feel good.
I called this my 2021 wish list, but realistically and considering the price of most these pieces, it is very unlikely I will finish this list within one year without running the risk of insolvency. But who knows, maybe I will be the proud owner of some of these treasures by the end of 2021 - a girl can dream...
Behold the makeup products I have been thinking about non-stop but have been too cheap to actually purchase. Now they live rent-free in my head and therefore go on this list to be hopefully ticked off soon.
The Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation by NARS - a classic, if I may say so, without having actually used it. This foundation has been on the market for years and despite only having heard grand things about it, shamefully, I have to admit that I haven't come around to trying it yet. Here's to hoping this will change this year! Product number two is the Soft Matte Complete Concealer, which I'm convinced would be the perfect remedy for my black circles.
The Hollywood Flawless Filter Foundation by Charlotte Tilbury is a product I am desperate to try. This foundation promises dewiness on end, and when I hear dewy or radiant finish, I am sold. That's all it takes. I am also a big fan of the applicator - no makeup stains on my hands anymore.
I feel like this could be a powerful secret I'm revealing here. REFY is the makeup line of mega babe Jess Hunt, and the brow kit she brought out is said to be bottled magic. In fairness, though, taking just one look at her will make you never take brow advice from anyone else. Needless to say I have to get my hands on her products!
I am aware that I am very late to this party, but all the more, I finally want to try the Shape Tape Concealer by Tarte Cosmetics this year. If you are one of the countless people who have already tried and tested this concealer, please do share your experience in the comments, I would love to read it!
Having recently revealed my less than satisfactory skin on Instagram, I think it's completely fair for me to long for some nice skincare products. Totally the reason I posted about my skin in the first place. My ultimate goal is healthy looking, super radiant skin, so any product that says "glow", "bright" or "radiant" on the packaging automatically goes in my shopping cart.
I see it, I like it, I want it, I don't got it: The Banana Bright Eye Cream and the Banana Bright Face Primer by Ole Henriksen. Sometimes it really sucks not to be Ariana Grande...
These are pieces which have been on my wish list for far too long, and it is time I finally did my wardrobe and myself a favour and bought them.
I love pieces that are easy and effortless to style and make you look put together the second you put them on. Denim is always a fantastic choice of fabric, so sign me up for a denim boiler suit!
Kendra Arcadia Docs - pretty sure I don't have to elaborate on this. I first saw them on a girl stood behind me in the queue at the theatre, and I haven't been able to stop thinking about these ever since. Unfortunately, they're sold out everywhere, so if you want to get rid of your pair or know where I can get those, don't be shy and drop me a message this instant - don't even finish reading this post!
Leather blazers perfectly combine edgy rock and clean elegance, which is the look I'm striving for these days.
The amount of money I could spend in this department... Marvel with me at the pieces I am yet to be able to afford!
The stuff dreams are made of. I fell in love the second I laid eyes on this masterpiece by The Great Frog. All of their jewellery is so beautiful, but the Flaming Heart Pendant has my heart.
Another case of love at first sight: Chunky bracelets by Tilly Sveaas. Absolutely beautiful and I cannot wait to place an order when I'm not a poor student anymore.
